1960s Chipettes

Description

As you know, the Chipettes made their first appearance in the second episode (technically the first, second part) of "Alvin and the Chipmunks", the 1980's series.

Looking back at the original 1960's "Alvin Show" cartoons (where the characters had a different drawing style), I saw the "I Wish I Could Speak French" video [link] where Alvin fantasizes about three French girls, a blonde, a brunette and a redhead. Although they are stylized humans, I like to think of them as precursors to the Chipettes (even if the latter are Australian).

I then had this idea of drawing them if they were created in the 1960's, in the "Alvin Show" style.

So, in order to keep up with them being the female equivalents of the Chipmunks, Brittanny is the shortest (since Alvin was also the shortest of the Chipmunks at that time).
I've also made them pose like the original French girls do at the end of the video towards Alvin.

Yes, Brittanny doesn't have her legwarmers, but they didn't exist in the 1960's! ;p

This it's the best one trying to draw them in this style, because in other fanarts they only trace the male chipmunks ignoring that the 80's chipettes are almost human-likes with the exception of their noses.

And you really respected how girls dressed in that decade.

Really good art.
